Hi There, welcome, and thanks for taking the time to learn more about realbusinessconsulting.com (RBC). My name is Craig. I’m a family man, car enthusiast, dedicated serial entrepreneur and director of realbusinessconsulting.com.

Over the past decade I have started, developed, grown and sold over 30 small businesses and continue to move forward on a variety of ventures (Idle hands are the devil’s playthings, after all).

Over the years, I have faced almost every problem a business man/woman can face. Customer bases drying up, currency exchange rates diving, imploding economies, supplier nightmares, staff going AWOL and spiralling debts, to scratch the surface.But, I am still alive and kicking! I turned a $10,000 credit card into $5 million and I have come away scarred, more knowledgeable and with an array of skills and tools to help you succeed in your chosen venture.

So, why did I start realbusinessconsulting.com? Over the years, I have talked to thousands of people face to face, from end customers, wholesalers, distributors, suppliers, banks, finance institutions, recruitment agencies, government agencies and business consultants and to my amazement, many of the business consultants I have met are the least ‘real’ people I have come across. When I say ‘real’, I mean; ‘does what they say make practical sense in the everyday operation of running a business?’ Now, I’m not saying that all business consultants are this way, and I am sure there are many good ones, but speaking from personal experience, the market seems flooded with ‘business consultants’ who have never even owned a business!

I began questioning how a person can consult on a topic they have no real experience in and discovered that the ideas they put forward must be from a different planet, as the suggestions I have heard have zero grounding on planet earth. There’s a big difference between regurgitating some business wisdom you have learned from a get-rich-quick book, and the valuable experience gained from doing the hard yards.

Bonus advice – unless you win the lottery, there’s no get rich quick scheme.

No matter which business consultant you use, make sure you are dealing with ‘real’ and knowledgeable people who are really going to add practical value to your business. Just because someone wears a suit, and likes to talk about the latest gold and silver peak and troughs and which bubble will burst next, doesn’t make them qualified on a practical level to consult on your business goals.
